This 1st winter drake was found on 14th Feb among the Tufted Ducks, there has been a female Scaup here since 14th Jan, and the 2 are now found accompanying each other mainly on the east side, though have been seen at Barrow GP |

This adult was found at 3.45 while we were in the hide with John Bradley. Wing pattern was confirmed and the bird showed quite distantly for about an hour until darkness caved in. A bird I was always hoping to find at Church Wilne! |

The bird came into the roost again tonight. Showing just like it did last night again, favouring behind the spit among LBBG's. This time the bird was first seen at 1515, though it may have just been behind the spit before |

I found this bird as it flew in with the Meadow Pipits and luckily landed straight in front of me! Annoying though, perfect weather, but no Grey Phal, always the case |

This bird was with another Rock and 2 Water Pipits, showing very well for ROH in the morning, and ok for me in the afternoon, sadly got flushed by a birder who didnt realise I was looking at them, oh well! |

A very showy bird considering how flighty and wary Water Pipits usually are, thought at first maybe littoralis Rock Pipits, but the photos prove otherwise |

This is incredibly confiding for a Water Pipit, bird was photographed on the same day aas another Rock Pipit was present on site by ROH, a bizarre little influx of both birds into the south |

This bird was present along with a Water Pipit during the mini influx. Great comparsion against the above birds, showing differences in the species and compared to Water Pipit |

Same bird as on previous page, but showing the iris colour and the obvious white undertail coverts against the dark chestnut body, a nice surprise for a good Autumn in the Trent Valley |

After years of waiting, Rob has finally managed to see a Waxwing along his street! This is his photo as I was at work all day. Luckily I've seem them on 3 occasions along my road |

Part of a flock of 5 birds that have been present for a month now, along with a massive amount of ducks. Came here for Shorelark which JB had here, not a bad day for him at all! |

This has been the place for Jack Snipe this autumn, but getting ground views hasnt happened until today after several close calls, 2 birds showed like this, down to 6 feet, a fantastic bird |

RCP's always have a good in the 'wild' feeling when found here, like these 2 birds! An adult and 1st winter drake which we found this morning. Much better looking than the plastic Carsington birds |

Here's the second bird, of what was a bit of an influx for the 2 of us, we saw them at Carsington, Shardlow, Barrow and Church Wilne during these few days, notice difference from Water Pipit |

This is the second Water Pipit from this unusual flock of Water/Rock Pipits, subtly different to the other bird, see moustachial stripe for a difference between the two |

This presumed large female Lanner was found while searching for the Tawny Pipit on Leics side of Trent but flew across into Derbyshire. Anyone any thoughts on the id of this bird? |

Odd birds like this tend to turn up, showing bright yellow legs, a certain trap if your not careful for Spotted Sandpiper. This bird turned up during the amazing influx of these, including 25 on site on 1 day |
