Sheerness

Sheerness is a commercial port and is the main town of Sheppey. The Port of Sheerness mainly imports new cars, fruit and meat. Lappel Bank is where the largest number of imported new cars in the UK are stored until transportation. The dockyard is also the location for the Sheerness Lifeboat station. The beaches of Sheerness have been winning the Blue Flag for their tidiness for the last ten years. Sheerness also boasts a large number of shops, including well known names such as Tesco, Woolworths, H Samuels, Icelands, Co-Op, Bakers Oven, Superdrug, Boots and other established names. There are also a number of pubs in Sheerness, some of which have been around for nearly 100 years.

Halfway

Halfway is in between Sheerness and Minster/Queenborough. It is much smaller than Sheerness, but bigger than Harty and Elmley. Halfway was once just fields, but that all changed in the early 1900's when the first houses were built. Today, there are a lot more houses and a variety of shops including a Co-Op, a newsagents and off-license, several takeaways, a garage and other shops commonly found in a village.
