Weather: Fair , Cold Very Cold

Bait: Mackerel

Fish Caught:11

Arrived just before Brian weather was very cold -2 , fishing was slow with a few bites within the 1st hour , Brian was 1st to catch a flounder.

I caught a smelt a few minutes later , then things went quiet again.

Brian then caught another flounder at the same time i caught a flounder.

Once again went quiet , Brian then caught a double hitter , 2 mins later i caught a flounder.

Around high water Brian started to catch his other 4 flounders while i had 2 bites.

total = 1 smelt , 10 flounders

I was not going fishing but somebody that used to fish with me & brian turned up and asked.

So i contacted Brian and a rush about looking out bait etc went and collected brian.

Arrived the tide was flowing fast and dirty , set up 1st cast lead just went southwards loads of weed , 2nd cast 1 of my rods jammed with weed as i was clearing it my other rod went mental reeling it jamming with weed i knew i had a trout on managed to get it out weighed in at 1.73lb , my 1st of the year well chuffed.

Bites were slow coming in but the crap was not , baits were stripped.

Brian caught a flounder after that bites but nothing brought in , still another species for this year.

Weather: Strong Gusting Wind Rain

Bait: Mackerel

Fish Caught: 1

Arrived at the wall wind was just blowing a bit with a rain shower , had a bite 1st cast but zero came of it .

20 mins into session brian was reeling then bang trout on , weighed in at 1.5lb after that the wind picked right up blowing the rods and rest over , i think brian reel got busted.

Only 1 fish to brian and i BLANKED.

We planed to fish Arbroath when we got there all the cages had cars beside them , so we headed up to Auchmittie tide was well out so we waited and waited for it to come in.I was nearly sleeping so we decide just to head to riverside drive.

We set up rods in the early hours of the morning , 1st few cast nothing then i caught a codling followed by another , started to get bites more now , the weed was not much of a problem either.

I caught a small whiting followed by another codling then another codling , Brian then caught a dab . Thins went dead for a  while then i caught a flounder followed by a codling.

Around this time i showed Brian how easy a meths stove was to light some hot food , Brian the caught 2 whiting while the rest of the session i caught codling , nothing of any size biggest codling 1/4lb only , whiting were only finger sized.

Arrived at wall waiting Brian , while waiting i had bite after bite totaling 4 flounders.

He appeared with another "mad 1" we call him , still getting bites but nothing coming in.

Around 20 mins after they turned up the Mad 1 caught a coalfish , Brian still zero then i caught a flounder.

Still getting bites i caught a good sized flounder , just mins later the Mad 1 lost a trout right at the wall , Brian finally saved his blank with a codling.

On the last cast i caught another flounder, not a bad 2.5hr sesssion , a few more anglers turned up just before high water.

Went out fishing as i was off my work today to kill a couple of hours before i pickup the kid from school.

Arrived at wall some anglers there already but went away after 15 mins , started to get bites 1st to come in a small codling followed by another , bites were coming in had a double hit of flounder then a few more wee flounders.

Around 20 mins before high water bites calm downed so loaded both rods with mackerel , 6 mins later a sea trout , which i returned.

I still managed a few more fish end total was 9 flounder , 6 codling , 1 sea trout.

Arrived at wall just as Brian & Mad1 came.1st cast just away to get my tea when WSF member Donotforgetme "Bill" came down also.

Bites were coming fast but zero when retrieved , Brian was the 1st to catch a flounder then another , 10 mins later a double hit of flounders leaving the rest of us standing.

Another WSF mmember appeared Hulltoon , then while we were chatting Mad1 caught a whiting looked like a coalie in pic , then Brian caught another flounder.

As it wasnearing high water bites disappeared as i was talking to bill saying perfect condition for a trout bang goes my rod brung it in trout on shaking away , Then Brian caught another flounder , Bill caught a flounder on his last retrieve.

Totals were , Brian 6 flounder , Mad1 1 whiting , Me 1 sea trout

Arrived at wall with Mad1 casted out instint bites , Brian appeared a few mins later bites were constant with baits gone on retrieve.

Further up were a few anglers new WSF members Locheeboy & co.Tide was running slow then crabs started to bite typical , Locheeboy came down for a chat so i headed up to chat with the others just i got there Brian came shouting Mad1 just caught a trout , the bites were still there hard hitting then Brian caught a flounder , then thing slowed right down thought here we go a blank then i had a small bite a wee flounder saved me from blank.

totals - me 1 flounder , Brian 1 flounder , Mad1 - sea trout

Arrived at wall Brian already there " omg what a shock" , tide was not flowing that fast , nothing much happened .

Brian caught a flounder after 50 mins then a few bites  and that was that for the next 20 mins then he caught a dab .

I caught a coalfish then locheebhoy turned up fishing and a chat , still a few nibbles just as went away Mad1 caught a flounder , bites still came and went as brian reeled in for packing up another flounder.

Arrived at wall with Mad1 , Brian already there "he forgot add a Hour on " .

He was fishing there for around hour and caught his 1st flounder as we were setting up , he caught another flounder around 15 mins later.

I caught a flounder 10 mins later followed by another 3 mins later , after that the crabs started to take the bait.

Mad1 blanked .

Wormit - Fife - WSF Meet

Weather: Strong nw - w , winds

Bait:Mackerel , Lugworm

Fish Caught: 3

Arrived at the meet with fathersmurf &mad1 , spoke to a few while the 2 antisocial went steaming towards a mark.

So after a few introductions headed off to get them , overtook mad1 who was knackered by this time , Brian had a rod out already.

I just casted out as i saw Brian's rod tip move gentle few times as he reeled noticed a eel coming in  , i thought might get some decent fish how wrong was that.

After a hour with a few bites to show headed back down to see how everyone else was doing by the look of it better than us mind you notsuprising as Brian killed most of the lug again.

After something eat casted out again and i caught a wee flounder on lug after a hour  i caught a better flounder while geting splashed by waves .

Ended back on the bank with Brian i had 1 great bite but just took my bait clean off.

Typical of a meet here windy etc , but thanks to everyone who turned up i think around 20 anglers plus plus a few fish between us -- flounder , coalfish , eel , sea trout and another species still to be id.

Arrived at the wall with Brian , we decided to fish the calsberg bench bit opposite Tesco.

2nd cast i caught a flounder , bites were coming baits stripped , Mad1 foned asking where Brian was , just after that weed , branches etc came down with the tide hooking us up with them mostly every cast.

After a while i caught another flounder followed by another flounder by this time Brian though he was going to blank.

As per usual he caught a flounder , i managed to catch another flounder as did Brian , the wind was picking up all the time we were there.

We decided to go out after our boat was cancelled for the sunday

The wee lad wanted to go fishing so tok him and his sister out "give mum a break ".

Arrived at the wall beside football pitches safest place.

Bites were instant , 1st into fish was the wee lad a flounder then it was my turn average sized.

Then i brung in my 1st double hit of flounder followed by another 6 fish in the 1st 45mins.

Then the wee lass caught a flounder, all mine after that got smaller and smaller.

Still not complaining 10 flounders in just under 2 hrs not bad wee sesssion.

Headed home as the rain came kids tired .

Decided to try a spot of fishing today , it went from bad to worse .

1st rained heavy while i set up , 2nd plenty of bites but all baits stripped , 3rd jet skiers , 4th some numpties that threw in all empty bait contains from tesco , empty food containers from snack bar.

Back to fishing well 1 wee flounder , no blank but could have been better.

Scrabster harbour

When we arrived at Scrabster for the WSF boat meet , me & brian decided to give the harbour a try for some dabs.

1st into the dabs was me followed by me again , & again with a double hit of dabs.

I caught another double hit of dabs i was 9 up before brian caught his 1st dab , 14 up the brian caught his 2nd last fish a flounder to me , not bad for a wee session.

Scrabster Harbour

Weather : mackerel , herring , flashas

We did another session here , was on the boat during the day but thats another post.

Arrived dabs were not there then after 30 mins brian caught his 1st followed by his second , i caught 1 dab , brian caught his 3rd , then i caught my 2nd & 3rd dab , brian then caught his 4th dab.

A seal appeared right next to us brian started to feed it , 2 mins later mackerel showed casted a line in brian pulled up 2 mackerel , i pulled up 2 mackerel , we were running back and forth accross the harbour in the end we took 30 home shook off a lot more.

I was supposed to  be at etive on th sat with a local fishing but due to my wife about to pop had to stay at home . They had spurs to 10.5lb thornies etc.

So on the sunday the kids were up early stressing her out , so took them down to the wall for a couple of hours .

Fishing was slow not a bite fr the 1st 30 mins then sapper arrived to say hello , just as he drove off i caught a flounder followed by a double hitter 5 mins later , by 10 mins before high water i caught 5 flounder then the rain came.

As i was putting kids in the car my rod tip went another flounder , decided to head home .

Not a bad wee sesh and the wife like the break , she is in today " mon"  to have the kid , so i'll be up there for the biggest catch of the year.

Arrived at wall with young lad , brian appeared , he was fishing yesterday and weed was going to be problem.

1st cast he brings in flounder , 3 cast i bring in a flounder , then the weed came in thick every cast in between the weed brian managed another 7 flounders , me only the 1 until i was packing up a bite yes bite another flounder.

Most of flounders caught on mackie or mackie cocktails to brian , mine all on peeler.

Oban Area -

Weather: fair , rain , winds

Bait: Mackerel , Squid

Fish Caught; 6

Was camping at Oban with young daughter , Brian & his son , also local fishing club members.

Arrived friday evening , they were already there eager to go so after setting up took them to a quick mark , but young lassie got cold so i headed back left them to fish " they caught fish".

Sat we headed to corran ferry where they were fishing and already had few fish , we started to fish hooked into a few but lost after 2 hrs caught my 1 st doggie followed by another 20 mins later.

The weather turned to rain so me & brian headed back due to rocks slippy for kids "others never caught anything when we left".

Brian headed back down to local mark where he still blanked sat night.

Sun before we headed back the others fished the local mark but we headed to oban for shopping , took a few casts at the harbour where i caught 3 mackie and young lass caught 1 mackie.

Brian btw blanked all weekend even losing all my leads.

We also met up with McCoool , Bg Al , Willeton on sat evening .

Oban Area

Weather: Rain fri night , rest sunny

Bait: Mackerel

Fish Caught: 5

We arrived at oban on fri night with kids Brian was chomping at the bit to go fishing so he did , then the rain came down hard , i was lucky i was in the tent watching dvds.

He arrived back 2 hrs later Blanker , he did get bites " yeah by midgies".

Sat we thought go to Fort William for mackie bashing , wrong idea place was mobbed so off to McDs then to corran ferry , we arrived at wrong end of tide but a good day , while the kids munched on McDs we setup , Brian was 1st to catch a doggie , 20 mins later i caught my 1st Conger Eel weighed in at 2.44lb .

A few missed bites i then caught a cod a nice red colour then Brian caught another doggie .

around 10 mins later we headed back to Oban for kids tea.

Sat night Brian & his kid headed back down to local mark yip you guessed it he blanked again while his kid caught a mackie .
